Grand Opening of the Russian Food House

On the 18th of February the Russian Food House opened its doors in Dubai. The Food House constitutes a tasting hall and showroom established for permanent exposition of Russian food products.

The Russian Food House is founded by the Russian Export Center for the purpose of promoting Russian food products in the market of UAE and the Gulf countries. The operator of the Showroom is the “Incona” company.

The opening ceremony was participated by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Levin, the Senior Vice-President of the Russian Export Center Mr. Igor Zhuk, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and Northern Emirates Mr. Oleg Fomin and the representatives of the UAE government as well as the representatives of the leading Russian and UAE food companies.

Dubai is of particular interest for the Russian exporters, being the major regional trade hub for food products supply throughout the Middle East region. According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Levin, “The Showroom has a challenging task to become the main conductor of Russian food supplies and agricultural products to the markets of the Gulf countries and Africa”.

The Senior Vice-President of the Russian Export Center Mr. Igor Zhuk noted, that the Showroom provides real opportunities for promotion of the Russian food products; he also expressed profound gratitude to the UAE host party and to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and Northern Emirates, noting that the efficient work of the Showroom was impossible without their support.

The operator of the Showroom is the “Incona” company. According to its General Director Mr. Alexei Busev, for the purposes of promotion of Russian products, the Showroom will hold regular presentations and meetings with the Emirati trade companies, it will accept responsibilities of the contact and informational center representing Russian food manufacturers in the UAE and the Gulf countries. The Showroom operator intends to regularly replenish the product range and to be substantially involved in the food events and exhibitions in the UAE.

Currently the Showroom presents a wide range of Russian goods including grocery products, sunflower oil, beverages, grains, spices, confectionery products, coffee, cake premixes, baby foods and others. The guests of the opening ceremony took particular interest to the organic products exhibited in the Showroom, such as crispbreads, cereals, granola bars to mention just a few.

On the very first day of the Showroom operation the representatives of the Russian food companies had an opportunity to present their products to the Emirati distributors and retailers, to network and conduct sales negotiations.
